Rules & Regulations


Giving money or gifts to the staff members is strictly prohibited. All such intended contributions may be made to the HISSS Employees Welfare Fund.


The school will not be held responsible for any injury suffered by a student, during activities such as games, sport, gymnastics, boxing, swimming, sailing / boat pulling, mountaineering expedition and camping. Consent of the parent/guardian is taken for granted for any surgery, if necessary, to be performed on a student, and a declaration that the school authorities will not be held responsible for any adverse consequences thereof, are statutory demands expected of the parents. However, in case of any emergency, on the advice of the medical authorities, the school should be given permission to carry out emergency surgery. This will be resorted to when time is at a premium and it is difficult to contact the parent and obtain their permission for the operation.


The complete medical records of the child / ward must be furnished for perusal at the time of admission. The medical report that is submitted must invariably contain all the relevant medical information relating to child since birth.


The school has its own Medical Officer and experienced and trained staff nurse.

Children are examined at the beginning of each term by the School Doctor and the School Dentist. Reports of the examination will be sent to the parents who require treatment. The school has a tie up with all specialists in Dindigul and the students are taken to them when required.

All medicines brought by the students from home are to be kept with the dorm nurses and are taken by the students under the supervision of the nurses.

The school authorities reserve the right to refer a student to any specialist for treatment or operation when the need arises, and when time is at a premium. In all normal cases, the parents will be consulted before such action is taken.


The Final external examination certificates of a student should be collected from the school personally by the parents and not by any other person, upon the clearance of accounts section.


The school reserves the right to strike the name of a student off the Roll or stop him/her from appearing for any examination, including the external examinations for non-payment of fees and other dues before the commencement of such examinations.


The School will undertake to make the travel arrangements of the student for his onward journey to home for vacation. If the requisition for the same is made after the date stipulated in the school circulars / calendar / diary, and for non payment of airfare and dues to the Travel agency, then the school will not make the travel arrangements.

Normally pick-up facility is made available, during vacations, at standard times twice a day at the railway station and bus stand at Dindigul, for going home/coming to school.


Parents / Guardians cannot visit their ward/s during the term peroids. In exceptional cases and in emergencies, they may visit their wards after obtaining written permission from the Principal / the Vice Principal.

Only parents,with identity card, are allowed to take the children out from the school.


There will be no local guardian nominated for any student. Only for those from abroad/other states, a guardian should be a blood relation and should be authorized by the parent, to interact with the school and the student.

The school reserves its right to reject a guardian.


Parents or Guardian, in the case of abroad/other states students, must come in person to collect their ward/s for mid-term break and vacations.


Tucks, eatables, chewing gums, perfumes, gel, electronic items and costly items are banned inside the school. Such things will be confiscated from the student and in addition, the students will be suitably dealt. The items confiscated will not be returned to the parents or to the students. There is no provision for tuck shop, but anyhow, the school will arrange to provide children with all their requirements.


Smoking is strictly banned within the school premises for the students, parents, guardians, visitors and every one. The school reserves the right to expel a student at any time for indulging in misconduct or any discipline case. Such students, depending on the severity of the offence, may be escorted to home and handed over to the parents at their expense and the TC will be issued immediately with the remark “expelled for misconduct”.


Being a fully residential school, only the Indian Independence Day and Republic Day are observed as national holidays, and all other days including Sundays during the term are treated as working days for all practical purposes.


All students must wear the school uniform during journeys, while travelling from and to the school.


Abroad students travelling to international destinations will not be permitted to meet their relatives in transit points and collect articles to be sent with them. Other students also will not be permitted to go other than their home town, either to their relatives home or friends home.


CBSE norms will be followed for promotion to next Grade. If the student concerned does not make any substantial improvement in the compartmental exams for promotion to the next class, he/she will have to be withdrawn from the school.


Colour dress is permitted to be worn by the entire school only on the Diwali / New year day. On all other festival days children will be in the normal school uniform. Children could also bring colour dress for their birthdays and shall wear with prior permission. At the hostel, normal standard dress is allowed.


Birth day celebration is permitted with prior permission of Dormitory administrator. Dormitory administrator will arrange for birth day celebration at the dormitory complex, with all students at the evening time. The cost is to be met by the parents.


Children are not permitted to go out with parents and guardians on weekends. However on their birthdays, they could go out with their parents/guardian only for one night.


For any gross indiscipline, a student may be expelled from the school, and it is mandatory for the parents to come and collect such children from the school, failing which they will be escorted under school arrangement and handed over to the parents and such expenses will be debited from the student’s account.


Students are not permitted to make calls to parents / guardians. Frequent telephone calls from parents are discouraged since it interferes with the academic performance of the student. Parents may call up their wards on specified day a week.


Parcels of any kind are not accepted in school. Parents may send only medicines and textbooks to the students, and such parcels must be addressed to the Principal. Birthday dresses etc. should be sent along with the children, when they return from vacation.


Students who arrive later either at the time of re-opening or after mid-term break are liable to pay a penalty of Rs. 500/- per day. Normal medical certificates in support of late arrivals will not be accepted. The onus to prove the reasons for late arrival rests with the parents.


Parents are requested to inform the school well in advance of their decision to withdraw their child/children from THE HISSS. The under mentioned regulations will be applicable :

Request for withdrawal should be sent by an e-mail or letter duly signed by the Parent and addressed to the Principal, THE HISSS.

There will be no levy of a Fine for the withdrawal request submitted on or before 31st January.

If the request for withdrawal is submitted on or before 28th February, a sum of Rs. 5,000/- will be levied.

In case the request for withdrawal is submitted on or before 31st March, a sum of Rs. 10,000/- will have to be paid.

For Withdrawal request submitted after 31st March, the full fee for the First Term of the following Academic Year will have to be paid.

If the withdrawal request submitted after 30th April, the full fee for the 1 & 2nd terms of the following Academic Year will have to be paid.

For the withdrawal of a newly admitted child at the request of the Parent after one month or during the Academic Year, only the Caution Deposit will be refunded after deducting both the Term fees and other dues if any.

If there is a withdrawal in-between the Terms or during the Academic Year, all the Term fees will have to be paid.

If a student fails to report back to school after Vacation or Mid-Term break and is unwilling to continue in the school, the annual term fees will have to be paid.

If the dues are not paid as per the aforementioned stipulated Regulations, the same will be deducted from the Caution Deposit.

The above mentioned regulations are applicable for every admissions.

Students who wish to rejoin the school after the issuance of Transfer Certificate will be considered as ‘New Admission’.

Please note that the Transfer Certificate will be issued only after the full and final settlement of all dues.
